Joshua Ellis Ballard, age 40, of Hooks, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Richmond, Virginia.
Josh was a proud 17-year veteran of the United States Army, achieving the rank of Master SGT as a crew chief in the Black Hawk Helicopter. Josh heroically served his country with honor, completing three tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Josh’s life was marked by his courage, his strong sense of duty, and his unwavering commitment to others.
Josh was born December 7, 1983, in Texarkana TX to Raymond and Carolyn Ballard. He loved motorcycles and was a proud member of a veteran-based motorcycle club, The Infidels. He loved hunting, working on cars and trucks, and being outdoors.
Josh was a proud father of two awesome young boys, Jaiden Ellis and Easton Gauge Ballard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Ellis Ballard; and a number of grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Ballard of Hooks TX; sons Jaiden and Easton Ballard, of Texarkana, TX; one sister, Katreena and Anthony Sanford; two brothers, James Ballard, and Colton and Savannah Ballard; two nieces, Kristeena Brooks, and Korey Brooks and her spouse, Alex Brooks; also one special great-niece, Ellianna Brooks all of Hooks, TX.
Most importantly Josh was preceded in death by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who conquered death. Now through Him, Josh has a new life and body and is at peace. A celebration of Josh’s life will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Plentiful Harvest Church, 500 North Merrill, New Boston, TX.
