Earl Wayne Rhea, 92, of De Kalb, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at his home.
Wayne was born October 28, 1932 in Red River County to Elbert and Ides Rhea.
He was an electrician and equipment specialist for 46 years at Red River Army Depot. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. Wayne was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas where he served as a Deacon and teacher. He also loved attending the First United Methodist Church prayer breakfast.
Wayne was a loving husband to his wife, Helen Finley Rhea for 68 years; loving father to his daughters, Kelly Powell (Bryan) of De Kalb, Texas and Karen Russell (Jeff) of Houston, Texas; and proud grandfather to his grandson, Cody Powell of Wake Village, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John Rhea, James Rhea, and Boyce Rhea; and two sisters, Marie Aydelott and Juanita Jackson.
His family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Retreat Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
Wayne loved his family and his church in a very special way and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas with Reverend James Sparks officiating.
Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.
