Third grade students at New Boston Elementary are participating in the Learn, Eat, Grow, and Go! program through the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Office. The program is designed to teach students the basic needs of plants, how to care for plants, and how to use plants for human benefit. With the help of these adults, students learn how to garden, harvest, and cook plants for tasty recipes. They even sample some of the things they have grown. Recently, spinach quesadillas were tried. One student commented that it was the best quesadilla she had ever had! Others thought chicken needed to be added. Students look forward to visits from the Agrilife Office and get excited when they see them on campus. This is just another way we make learning fun at New Boston Elementary.
