The James Bowie Lady Pirates won a Bi-District championship last night with their 12-5 victory over the Rivercrest Lady Rebels. The Lady Pirates wasted no time on the Lady Rebels, putting the game away in the 1st inning by scoring ten runs in their half of the frame.
Senior ace hurler Marlie Rogers earned the win on the bump for James Bowie as she allowed five runs on seven hits while striking out four.
Rogers also had a big bat in the game with three hits and an RBI. Reagan Brule went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Addison Daley also had an RBI and went 2-for-3 at the plate. Clutch hits also came off the bat of Callie Allen and Aryana Key who each had a pair of runs batted in.
The Lady Pirates advanced to the second round of the postseason for the first season since 2018 where they will next face the winner of the Bi-District contest between Martins Mill and Overton.Look to the Tribune for updated playoff info.
