A very special, come and go, all-day event is set for this Saturday at Elk Meadow Game Ranch, and this is an event you just don’t want to miss.
The event is a fundraiser for Michelle Williams Telford, a hometown girl and longtime staffer at Twin Rivers Vet Supply, who is battling cancer.
This event kicks off early Saturday morning and runs till 11 p.m. that night, with food, fun, and shopping to satisfy anyone’s needs and makes for a great day for a better cause.
The garage sale and silent auction will begin at 10 a.m., as well the shooting sports event.
The shooting event will include the chance to hone your shooting skills just in time for dove and duck season.
• Sign up will begin at 10:00 am.
• Bring plenty of cash in $5 and $10 bills for entry fees to the many games and contests we will have.
• 12 and 20 gauge shells, as well as the clays will be provided at no charge.
This is not a sanctioned event, just a chance to raise some money for a special family, have fun, and enjoy a day of shooting. Please bring your favorite shotgun and hearing protection and come join us for a fun filled time! If you have any questions about the shooting sports, please feel free to call or text Cody Johnson at 903-280-0469 for more information.
Lunch will be served at noon, and then at 2:30 p.m. there will be a tailgate as everyone gathers around and watches Clemson go at it with the Aggies of Texas A&M.
After the game, a BBQ dinner will be served at 6 p.m. to be followed by a live auction and live music to do some boot scootin’ to until the event winds down at 11.
Some of the things up for grabs during the day include tickets to A&M versus Alabama, a whitetail deer shoulder mount, a Ruger 10/22 autoloading rifle, a Remington Model 597 22LR Semi Auto Camouflage Synthetic and tons of other stuff.
What a fun way to spend a Saturday, all the while helping one of our own.
If you can’t make it out to Elk Meadow on Saturday, but you would still like to show some love to Michelle, an account has been set up at State Bank under Michelle Telford benefit.
